GOSPEL music fans will soon be introduced to new urban alternative sounds. Mpumalanga-born and raised artist Mark Silinda, pictured, will serenade his fans with his new offering. He spent much of his childhood in church as his father was a minister. He cites J Moss, Kim Barrel, Anthony Hamilton, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond as his musical influences.
His often chameleon-like image and genre-bending musical style have made him alternately revered and reviled among fans. Nonetheless, he has carved out a niche for himself as a formidable vocalist, and prolific songwriter and record producer. After honing his producing skills with a series of experimental independent recordings, Silinda has released his debut album, Thy Kingdom Come.
Silinda studied bio-medicine at the Vaal University of Technology where he plans to launch his debut album soon.
